In honor of breast cancer awareness month, White Plains Hospital is sponsoring and participating in numerous events throughout the month of October. Below is a roundup of events:
White Plains Hospital to Present "Journey of a Lifetime: Staying Positive Through Cancer" at JCC of Mid-Westchester
White Plains Hospital will be presenting "Journey of a Lifetime: Staying Positive Through Cancer" on Tuesday, October 13th at 7:30 PM at the JCC (Jewish Community Center) of Mid-Westchester, located at 999 Wilmot Road in Scarsdale. The event is also co-sponsored by the Jewish Book Council and Cancer Support Team
White Plains Hospital to Present Talk at White Plains Library with League of Women Voters, Woman’s Club of White Plains

White Plains Hospital Receives National Outstanding Achievement Award from American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer
White Plains Hospital has been presented with the Outstanding Achievement Award by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). White Plains Hospital is one of a select group of only 23 U.S. healthcare facilities with accredited cancer programs to receive this national honor. The award acknowledges cancer programs that achieve excellence in providing quality care to cancer patients.

White Plains Hospital welcomes Radiation Oncologist Jeffrey Vainshtein, MD to the Hospital. He is the newest member of the White Plains Hospital Cancer Program and is located at the Dickstein Cancer Center, located at 2-4 Longview Avenue in White Plains.

White Plains Hospital Celebrates Nurse Apprentice Graduation
White Plains Hospital today recognized 22 students who completed an intensive, seven-week apprenticeship program during the summer months. A graduation ceremony was held in the hospital’s auditorium, attended by Hospital leaders, staff members, the graduates and their families. Representatives from the offices of Congresswoman Nita Lowey, who is a longtime supporter of the program; New York State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins; and Westchester Country Executive Rob Astorino were also in attendance.
