Award Winning Orthopedic Specialists Join WPH Physician Associates
October 31, 2016 (White Plains, NY)- White Plains Hospital is pleased to welcome Rick Weinstein, MD, MBA, Michael Gott, MD and Syed Rahman, MD as they join the exceptional orthopedics team at White Plains Hospital Physician Associates. The practice will be known as White Plains Hospital Physician Associates- Westchester Sport and Spine.
Collectively, they bring a combined 33 years of experience in orthopedics and sports medicine with focus on conservative, non-operative treatments for most conditions. They are well-known in the region for providing both surgical and non-surgical orthopedic procedures with high levels of knowledge, expertise and compassion.

Dr. Rick Weinstein is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine with subspecialty training in knee and shoulder surgery, including minimally invasive surgery and arthroscopy. He is a Board Examiner for the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, determining certification for other orthopedic surgeons. Dr. Weinstein attended NYU School of Medicine after graduating from Tufts University. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine and his Sports Medicine Fellowship at University of Connecticut and Yale University. He also completed several months of specialty training at the Hospital for Special Surgery and the Hospital for Joint Diseases/NYU. In addition to his busy orthopedic practice, Dr. Weinstein has been a ringside physician for 18 years. He has worked at many boxing matches at Madison Square Garden, Barclay’s Center and Foxwoods Casino as well as at hundreds of other events. Dr. Weinstein is currently a panel physician for the New York State Athletic Commission and is working cage-side for mixed martial arts events as well.
Dr. Michael A. Gott is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle including traumatic and sports related injuries as well as arthritic conditions. He attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine after graduating from Emory University and completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Northshore/Long Island Jewish Hospital System, completing his Sports Medicine Fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute – St. Vincent’s (Birmingham, Alabama). Dr. Gott is passionate about working with amateur and collegiate athletes. He is the current team physician for Yorktown High School Athletics, and worked previously as a team physician for Troy University and the University of Alabama. He has been a member of the National Ski Patrol since 1995.
Dr. Syed Rahman is a fellowship trained, practicing Physiatrist and Pain Management specialist. He has subspecialty training in Musculoskeletal and Interventional Pain Medicine. Dr. Rahman attended the University of London, receiving a postgraduate degree in Medicine after attending Dhaka Medical College at the University of Dhaka. He completed his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency at the University of Stony Brook and fellowship training in Musculoskeletal and Interventional Pain Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical College.
