WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (November 3, 2015) – White Plains Hospital is inviting residents to take a tour of the Hospital to learn about its variety of services and programs. Tours will be offered on Wednesday, November 11th at 9:30 AM and 6:30 PM and will be given by members of the Friends of White Plains Hospital. The Friends of White Plains Hospital is a group of dedicated volunteers who help promote and advance the welfare of the Hospital.
The Hospital is in the midst of a campus-wide transformation, which includes a brand-new lobby and entranceway; new six-story patient tower with 24 private patient rooms and five state-of-the-art operating suites; as well as a new labor and delivery wing. Additionally, a second cardiac catheterization lab and an expanded cancer center are nearing completion.
Those who take the tour will be able to learn about areas such as emergency care, cardiology, maternity, and oncology, and will have a chance to meet some of the Hospital’s staff and volunteers. Attendees will also visit the newly opened lobby featuring 25-foot-high glass windows, elegant wood touches, terrazzo flooring, a floating staircase, a glass-enclosed skybridge, the Everyday Healthy Café, brand-new gift shop, and original artwork.
White Plains Hospital has been part of the Westchester community for more than 120 years, but those who are new to the area may not be aware of the full range of the Hospital's offerings. Even long-time area residents may be interested in learning about the latest innovations at the Hospital and seeing the ongoing campus transformation.
