White Plains Hospital Recognized for Corporate Innovation From Plug and Play Health

Hospital receives national award for providing patients with access to state-of-the-art solutions to better monitor and manage their health

White Plains, NY (November 18, 2021) White Plains Hospital announced today that is has been awarded the Corporate Innovation Award for 2021 from Plug and Play Health.

Plug and Play Health is a leading health tech accelerator based in Silicon Valley. Its platform connects “forward-thinking corporations” with startups that are influencing health care industries. The Corporate Innovation Award was given to White Plains Hospital for demonstrating a commitment to expanding its innovation culture and cultivating new relationships with startups to create technologies and implement programs that increase access to health care and better serve its patients.

“We are grateful for this recognition from Plug and Play Health,” said Jonathan Bandel, Chief Innovation Officer of White Plains Hospital.  “Innovation has been a key driver for White Plains Hospital, especially throughout the pandemic. We have not only been able to augment traditional models of care, but tailor them so they meet the unique needs of our patients and our healthcare professionals.” 

White Plains Hospital, through its subsidiary East Post Road Ventures, partnered with several startup companies from the Plug and Play network to test new medical technologies that help patients monitor and manage their health more effectively.

Bandel added, “Partnering with startups in the digital health and medical device space has given us access to newly developed equipment and tools such as wearable devices for passive remote patient monitoring, at home urinalysis testing, medication adherence devices, and artificial intelligence algorithms to identify patterns in large data sets to improve management of chronically ill patients and enhance the patient experience.”
