WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (May 16, 2024) – White Plains Hospital has been selected as one of the best maternity hospitals in the U.S. by Newsweek – one of 13 hospitals in New York State, and the only hospital in Westchester and Fairfield counties, to be included on the list. The complete Newsweek’s America’s Best Maternity Hospitals 2024 List can be found here.
“This award recognizes the dedication not only of our team of obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, but also our NICU, support staff, and our pediatric team. All of these talented individuals work collaboratively to ensure our families have an exceptional birth experience,” said Dr. Michael Palumbo, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at White Plains Hospital.
Newsweek’s rankings of America's Best Maternity Hospitals, compiled by data firm Statista, are based on three pillars:
- A nationwide online survey of healthcare professionals and hospital managers with knowledge about maternity processes – including, neonatal and perinatal doctors, nurses, and midwives were asked to recommend leading maternity hospitals in the U.S;
- A patient experience survey of the overall patient experience in the hospital; and,
- Hospital quality metrics relevant to maternity care.
In March, White Plains Hospital was also recognized as a “World’s Best Hospital” by Newsweek for the third consecutive year.
