WHITE PLAINS, NY (May 15, 2019) – White Plains Hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check mark for Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Centers. The Gold Seal of Approval®and the Heart-Check mark represent symbols of quality from their respective organizations.

Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Centers is awarded for a two-year period to Joint Commission-accredited acute care hospitals.

White Plains Hospital is the first New York State-designated Regional Stroke Center in Westchester County, and its expert Stroke Team has been consistently recognized for caring for stroke patients with the right treatments in a rapid timeframe. The hospital has expanded services and a growing team of highly experienced specialists in vascular neurology to diagnose patients who have suffered a stroke and provide them with the most advanced treatment for optimal outcomes.
