White Plains Hospital Receives Fourth Consecutive 5-Star Quality Rating from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

August 11, 2025

The Hospital Is One of Only 12 in New York to Receive Highest Rating

White Plains, N.Y. (August 11, 2025) – White Plains Hospital announced today that it has earned a five-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) – the highest distinction offered by the federal agency – for the fourth consecutive year.

White Plains Hospital is the only hospital in Westchester and Fairfield Counties, as well as in the Hudson Valley, to earn five stars for four consecutive years. It is also one of just 12 hospitals in New York State to receive this honor in 2025. CMS awards its quality ratings based on 45 quality measurements that fall into five categories: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience, and timely and effective care.

The CMS recognition comes on the heels of the Hospital’s receiving several other recent accolades, including: earning an “A” Safety Grade from the Leapfrog Group for the 13th consecutive time; being named a Best Regional Hospital by U.S. News and World Report for the seventh straight year; cited again as one of the country’s Best Hospitals by Money; and was one of the top 5% of hospitals in the country to receive the 2025 Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award.
