White Plains, N.Y., December 16, 2025 – White Plains Hospital has been named to Forbes’ inaugural “Top Hospitals” list – the only hospital in Westchester County, and one of just six hospitals in New York State, to make this prestigious list.
Forbes Top Hospitals 2026 analyzed more than 5,400 hospitals nationwide, selecting just 253 to be awarded with the highest overall ranking of 5 stars. Ratings were calculated by healthcare experts and data analytics firm Inovalon focusing on quality measures like patient outcomes, best practices, value, and experience. Clinical outcomes – including mortality, survival, infection, and readmissions rates – were analyzed from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Provider Data Catalog (PDC) and adjusted for social determinants of health for fair comparisons. A full explanation of Forbes’ methodology can be found here.
“Quality of care is the most important criterion for patients, and we are proud to continue to be ranked among the best in the country for our expertise and commitment to our patients,” said Dr. Michael Palumbo, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at White Plains Hospital.
White Plains Hospital’s strong commitment to quality is further demonstrated by the high ratings it consistently receives from well-regarded organizations such as CMS, which has awarded it with its highest 5-star quality rating for the past four years, and The Leapfrog Group, which has presented White Plains Hospital with 14 consecutive “A” safety grades.
