The Hospital also received a New York State Procedure Award for Colon Surgery and was recognized nationally with a specialty award for its excellence in Cancer Surgery.
“These recognitions reflect the skill of our physicians, the dedication of our clinical teams, and our continued commitment to providing advanced care close to home,” said Dr. Michael Palumbo, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at White Plains Hospital. “From complex cancer surgery to same-day joint replacement, our focus remains on delivering exceptional outcomes for the communities we serve.”
Castle Connolly Top Hospitals rankings are based on a rigorous methodology that evaluates hospitals across key performance metrics, such as patient outcomes, quality of care, and expertise in medical procedures. Patient outcomes are tracked from 30 days before surgery to 90 days after, and those hospitals with the highest scores are awarded.
White Plains Hospital is frequently recognized for its dedication to quality of care and patient safety. In 2025, it became the only Hospital in Westchester and Fairfield counties, as well as in the Hudson Valley, to earn a five-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for the fourth consecutive year.
