On Site: Urgent Care, Radiology and Medical and Surgical Specialists
Armonk, NY (November 17, 2015) – White Plains Hospital expanded its reach with the opening today of an urgent care center, comprehensive imaging center, and medical offices at White Plains Hospital Medical and Wellness in Armonk. This marks the first time a hospital has opened an urgent care center in Westchester. The 24,000-square-foot facility, located at 99 Business Park Drive, is easily accessible from routes 684 and 22 to residents of communities from Pleasantville to Bedford to Rye Brook and Greenwich, Connecticut. The Hospital marked the occasion with an open house for the community and ribbon cutting ceremony attended by regional business leaders and elected officials.
“We have been a trusted provider of quality health services for residents of northern Westchester for years,” White Plains Hospital President and CEO Susan Fox said, “and we are pleased to now make many of those exceptional services available closer to home for this community.”
White Plains Hospital Medical and Wellness’ urgent care center is open 7 days a week for after-hour ailments and injuries, such as flu, sore throats and common sprains, which are not necessarily severe enough to require emergency room visits. Hours are 3-11 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on weekends. The center is staffed by experienced, board-certified physicians.
Rafael E. Torres, MD, director of Emergency Medicine at White Plains Hospital, will serve as the Medical Director for urgent care service at the new center. He commented: “We hope that by bringing urgent care to Armonk, we will help fill a gap in the area, particularly for those individuals with less severe illnesses and injuries who can be treated effectively and efficiently in an ambulatory setting.”
In addition to the urgent care center, the facility also offers comprehensive primary care and other services, including pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, endocrinology, and specialty surgical consultations, as well as laboratory services and a physical therapy space.
Extended hours for imaging services
A full-service Diagnostic Imaging Center is open weekdays from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. The center offers a full range of diagnostic imaging and laboratory services, including a silent MRI, 64-slice CT scan, pediatric radiology, sonohysterography, 3D mammography, 3D breast ultrasound and bone densitometry.
