White Plains, NY (July 25, 2016) – White Plains Hospital Clinical Laboratory has been awarded with an accreditation from the College of American Pathologist (CAP), based on the results of a recent on-site inspection.
Clinical Lab Director, Deena P. Shah, MD, was congratulated for the national recognition and excellence of laboratory services provided. The hospital’s clinical lab is one of only 7,000 CAP-accredited laboratories worldwide.
The CAP accreditation ensures that laboratories across the United States are compliant with regulatory requirements. It also examines the accuracy of testing and patient diagnosis to guarantee exceptional patient care.
The CAP accreditation process is designed to ensure the highest standard of care for all laboratory patients. During the on-site checks, inspectors examine laboratory records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years. CAP inspectors also examine laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety programs and records.
