White Plains Hospital Announces Neurosurgeon Dr. Rafael Uribe Has Joined Its Staff

White Plains, N.Y. (August 1, 2025) – Neurosurgeon Rafael Uribe, MD, MHS has joined White Plains Hospital’s Center for Advanced Medicine & Surgery, the Hospital announced today.

Dr. Uribe completed his medical degree at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. He then completed a residency in neurosurgery at Hospital Universitario San Ignacio in Bogotá, after which he received a Master of Health Science from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.

Following a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Uribe completed fellowships in pediatric neurosurgery and minimally invasive endoscopic surgery; pediatric neurosurgery and epilepsy surgery; and endoscopic skull base and pituitary surgery, as well as a residency in neurosurgery, all at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

In addition to oral and poster presentations at various conferences throughout South America and North America, Dr. Uribe has had his work published in a number of peer-reviewed medical outlets, including Operative Neurosurgery, World Neurosurgery, The Journal of Neurosurgery, and Pediatric Neurosurgery.

In addition to English, Dr. Uribe speaks Spanish.
