White Plains Hospital welcomes Radiation Oncologist Jeffrey Vainshtein, MD to the Hospital. He is the newest member of the White Plains Hospital Cancer Program and is located at the Dickstein Cancer Center, located at 2-4 Longview Avenue in White Plains.
White Plains, NY (December 16, 2015) – White Plains Hospital has opened an additional cardiac catheterization laboratory to perform interventional and emergency angioplasty, device implants and other procedures.

White Plains Hospital today recognized 22 students who completed an intensive, seven-week apprenticeship program during the summer months. A graduation ceremony was held in the hospital’s auditorium, attended by Hospital leaders, staff members, the graduates and their families. Representatives from the offices of Congresswoman Nita Lowey, who is a longtime supporter of the program; New York State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins; and Westchester Country Executive Rob Astorino were also in attendance.

The Golf tournament is sold out; however a number of tickets are still available for the Sunday evening cocktail party. Expected celebrities at both events will include Marcus Allen, NFL Hall of Fame; Tony Dovolani from “Dancing with the Stars”; Jay Harris, ESPN Sportscaster; David Justice, former outfielder for the NY Yankees; Jason Kidd, former point guard with the NJ Nets and currently the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks; George Lopez, comedian, actor and talk show host; Darryl Strawberry. former right fielder with the NY Mets and NY Yankees; Alan Thicke, actor, most notably starring in the TV Show “Growing Pains”, and others.
Surgeon Rafik El Sabrout, MD, PhD, FACS, FRCS(G), successfully performed a laparoscopic removal of a liver tumor at White Plains Hospital on April 16th as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This marks the first time a surgeon has removed this type of tumor using a fully laparoscopic procedure at White Plains Hospital. Laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a thin tube to make small, precise incisions.
White Plains Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Laurence R. Smith as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Smith was approved as the Board Chair at the White Plains Hospital’s Annual Board Meeting on April 27, 2015. He succeeds J. Michael Divney, who served as Board Chair since 2010.
