White Plains, N.Y. (July 1, 2024) – White Plains Hospital has announced that general surgery specialist Dr. Rafik A. Elsabrout has joined the Hospital’s Center for Advanced Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. Elsabrout received his medical degree with honors from the Cairo University Medical School in Cairo, Egypt, where he also completed a Ph.D. in surgery. He then completed fellowship training at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow, Scotland, followed by additional fellowship training in immunology and organ transplantation at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston.
Dr. Elsabrout is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He has served as the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on numerous clinical studies, and his research has been published in a multitude of scholarly publications. Dr. Elsabrout has routinely presented his work at regional, national and international conferences over the past 15 years.
He was most recently Chief of Surgery, President of Medical Staff, and Surgery Residency program site director, among other leadership positions, at Garnet Health Medical Center-Catskills. Prior to that, he was a hepato-pancreato-biliary surgeon at White Plains Hospital.
