White Plains, N.Y. (September 7, 2017) – White Plains Hospital welcomes Dr. Daniel Sammartino, Dr. Haven Caldwell and Dr. Jae Cho to its Center for Cancer Care. Dr. Sammartino, Dr. Caldwell and Dr. Cho are board certified in internal medicine.
Dr. Sammartino earned his medical degree at New York Medical College, Valhalla, NY. He completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, Manhasset, NY. He is board certified in hematology, oncology and internal medicine.
Dr. Sammartino has managed a number of clinical trials, working with the Food and Drug Administration, the Harvard Cancer Center Institutional Review Board and various pharmaceutical companies. He is a member of both the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
Dr. Caldwell earned her medical degree at Kansas City University of Medicine and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai-St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals in New York. She is board certified in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Caldwell completed her fellowship training in Medical Oncology and Hematology at Northwell Health-North Shore and Long Island Jewish University Hospitals. During her training she was involved in retrospective reviews of haploidentical transplant in FLT3 mutated AML, as well as dose dense versus conventional chemotherapy in patients with ovarian cancer. She has broad experience with all types of solid tumors, hematologic malignancies and benign hematologic conditions.
Dr. Cho received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Hofstra North Shore-LIJ in Manhasset, NY. He completed fellowships in Hematology and Oncology at Hofstra North Shore-LIJ. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and eligible for board certification in Hematology and Oncology. He was recently involved in a number of research studies at Hofstra North Shore-LIJ, including the correlation of family history with cancer risk, the relationship between leukemia and intestinal inflammation, and adenocarcinoma of the lung. He was also on the faculty of the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine.
Dr. Cho speaks conversational Korean and is fluent in Spanish.
