Every year on the first Sunday in June, we pay tribute to the growing number of cancer survivors across the country. This Sunday, June 3, the White Plains Hospital Center for Cancer Care is again hosting an event to recognize and honor these special individuals – who will join us with those caregivers, clinicians and family who supported them in their battle against cancer.
Last month was the first ever Answer To Cancer event. A rainy start to the day didn’t deter the more than 400 people who came out for the event, which featured a 5K road race and a 1K walk followed by a festive block party. In addition to a great time had by all – the event raised more than $100,000 for the Center for Cancer Care!
The event was just one more example of our longstanding commitment to our community to support the care and treatment of those touched by a cancer diagnosis. On display that morning, like it is every day in our Hospital, was our dedication to providing care for our community – care that is not only advanced and innovative, but also comprehensive, compassionate and close to home.
The day brought us all together – physicians, nurses, patients, caregivers and community members – in a moving demonstration of our mutual pledge to care for each other, and no matter what, to keep going, rain or shine. Thank you to all those who joined us – and we look forward to another great event next year!
