How to make ‘em; how to keep ‘em
It’s a new year – time for many to look at behaviors they’d like to change. Here are some do’s and don’ts to help you make and stick with your New Year resolutions.
- First of all, don’t try to change your whole life. Focus on one area.
- Select a goal that you believe is realistic.
- Making it measurable can help too. Instead of, “I will try to lose some weight,” resolve, “I will lose five pounds by February first.” And write it down.
- Share your goal with others. Having a support team can be really helpful.
- Reward yourself for your successes – even the small ones. It’s always a good idea to pat yourself on the back.
- Finally, don’t allow a single lapse to totally derail you. Believe in yourself. You can do it!
