New Year’s Eve is on the horizon

If you’re going out on the town, celebrate safely!

Some people are happy celebrating the New Year from the comfort of their couch, while others are ready to ring in 2019 in full party fashion. But you don’t have to head into Manhattan to see the ball drop. The City of White Plains and the White Plains Business Improvement District ring in the New Year at the intersection of Main and Court Streets. The celebration includes a DJ as well as live entertainment, a crowd countdown and ball drop, followed by a not-to-be-missed fireworks display and confetti.

Wherever you’re planning to celebrate remember to do it responsibly, we don’t want to see you in our emergency room. If you are in White Plains, Heineken USA wants to make sure you get home safe.

Heineken USA, headquartered in White Plains, has offered safe rides to people 21 years of age and older on New Year’s for the last 14 years. Cars will be located at the corner of East Post Road and Mamaroneck Avenue between 11 pm and 3 am. And this year, Heineken USA has partnered with Evite for their ‘Drink OR Drive’ campaign. People who use the Evite invitation platform to invite people to their celebrations can encourage their guests to decide, when they RSVP, whether they will be drinking or driving that evening. No matter which decision they make, they will qualify for a discount code for Uber. More details are available on the City of White Plains site.
