Top Grade for Fall 2024 Is a National Recognition for Patient Safety
White Plains, N.Y., November 15, 2024 – White Plains Hospital has earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from national nonprofit watchdog The Leapfrog Group for the 12th consecutive time. The Hospital has received an “A” rating each period since the beginning of 2019, and is the only hospital in the Hudson Valley, and one of only four hospitals in New York, to earn this top grade 12 consecutive times.
Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems that hospitals have in place to prevent them. In August, White Plains Hospital was once again awarded a five-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) — the highest distinction offered by the federal agency for quality of care. Earlier this year, the Hospital also received the Patient Safety Excellence Award™ and Outstanding Patient Experience Award™ from Healthgrades.
“We are thrilled to once again be recognized as one of the safest hospitals in the country,” said Dr. Rafael E. Torres, Chief Quality Officer at White Plains Hospital. “Accolades like these affirm both our hospital-wide commitment to patient safety and the consistency of the high-quality care we provide.”
