White Plains, N.Y. (May 5, 2025) – White Plains Hospital has named gastroenterologist Dr. Amneet Hans as Associate Director of its Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Program. Board-certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, Dr. Hans specializes in the medical and endoscopic management of IBD, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Dr. Hans attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s combined BA/MD program, where she graduated summa cum laude and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor society. She completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Colorado followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Emory University. After her fellowship training, she went on to complete an advanced fellowship in IBD at the Jill Roberts Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital–Weill Cornell Medicine.
Dr. Hans focuses on the clinical management of complex and treatment-refractory inflammatory bowel disease. She is also interested in extra-intestinal disease manifestations of IBD, IBD-specific pregnancy concerns, and health maintenance in IBD. She strives to provide comprehensive, innovative, and compassionate care to her patients to help restore their health and well-being.
Dr. Hans is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, and the American Gastroenterology Association. Her work has been presented at multiple national meetings and has been published in several peer-reviewed medical journals, including Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology and the Journal of Crohn's and Colitis.
Before joining White Plains Hospital, Dr. Hans was a gastroenterologist at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas and clinical assistant professor at Texas A&M University.
